PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for managing gene information.SOLUTION: The system includes: means that has a first database storing first information for specifying a gene modification, and a second database storing the information showing the gene modification, and receives second information that is stored in a recording medium and is used for specifying the gene modification; means for specifying the first information corresponding to the received second information in the first database; and means for specifying the information showing the gene modification on the basis of the first information and second information in the second database.
