A device for controlling a manual gearbox comprising a selector lever (220) that pivots about a fixed joint (227) in an external control housing (210) of the gearbox, on either side of the central selection line of a gear selection and shifting gate with an odd number of parallel selection lines, and an internal control assembly (100) actuated remotely by the lever (150), which comprises a rotary selection module (110) linked to the inner mechanism of the gearbox, characterised in that the selection travel of the lever (220) in the housing (210) is limited by an inhibiting means (224) that inhibits the lever, which can be moved manually on same by the driver between a low position in which the lever is prevented from crossing intermediate lines, and a retracted position in which the lever can cross said intermediate lines to access the extreme selection lines. |
