PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy in colorimetry without increasing a colorimetric time.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus including: a color sensor 50 having an LED 51, a diffraction grating 53, and a line sensor 54; an image forming part that forms an image on a sheet 21; a white reference plate 55 that is a reference in performing colorimetry of an image 69 to be measured formed on the sheet 21 by the image forming part; and a CPU 60 that performs colorimetry on the basis of a result of the detection of the image 69 to be measured and a result of the detection of the white reference plate 55 by the color sensor 50, where the CPU 60 of the color sensor 50 determines the intensity of light from the LED 51 with which the image 69 to be measured is irradiated to perform colorimetry on the basis of a result of the detection of an image-free area 68 of the sheet 21 and a result of the detection of the white reference plate 55 by the color sensor 50. |
