摘要 The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method of measuring velocity and direction of wind using an ultrasonic wave which transmit sequentially a square wave of a constant frequency with multi-level voltage difference using high-speed ultrasonic sensors and measure the current velocity and direction of the wind based on phase difference of a signal received through the ultrasonic wave sensor and a transmission signal. The apparatus for measuring the velocity and direction of the wind includes: an ultrasonic wave sensor module having transmission/reception sensors for transmitting/receiving an ultrasonic wave; and a wind direction and velocity measuring means for controlling transmitting/receiving of the ultrasonic wave by the ultrasonic wave sensor module and measuring the velocity and direction of the wind based on a transmission/reception signal through the ultrasonic wave sensor module. The ultrasonic wave sensor module includes at least two pairs of the ultrasonic wave transmission/reception sensors in a direction of a different axis, wherein transmission/reception sensors are disposed to be separated by a constant distance so that the transmission/reception sensors face each other in a direction of a constant axis, in a pair of ultrasonic wave transmission/reception sensors. The wave direction and velocity measuring means sets the ultrasonic sensor module as a different operation group according to an operation mode of transmission/reception sensors, transmits a square wave signal to the transmission/reception sensor of a transmission mode corresponding to a preset operation group, converts an ultrasonic signal received from a transmission/reception sensor of a reception mode into a square wave signal, calculates a phase difference of a transmission square wave signal and a reception square wave signal, calculates a velocity vector according to the operation group through the calculated phase difference, calculates a velocity vector about the corresponding direction axis through the difference of the velocity vector according to the different operation group of the same direction axis and obtains the current velocity and direction of the wind through the sum of the velocity vector of the different direction axis.
