PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an individual who is afflicted with a cancer, such as non-small cell lung cancer or prostate cancer, by administering to that individual a MUC-1 based liposomal vaccine formulation, and a method for identifying individuals with cancer that are suitable for treatment with a mucinous-glycoprotein (MUC-1) based formulation.SOLUTION: A method for improving or maintaining the quality of life of a subject comprising administering BLP25 liposome vaccine comprises the following: (a) a MUC-1 peptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or 2; (b) one or more adjuvants; and (c) one or more additional liposomal lipids. |
