PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a phase difference error of a focus detection pixel signal that occurs owing to reliance on a shutter speed in a device performing a pupil-division system focus detection.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a pixel that has a first photoelectric conversion element and second photoelectric conversion element, and further has one microlens commonly provided relative to the first and second photoelectric conversion elements; a reading circuit that resets the first and second photoelectric conversion elements, reads a first focus detection signal based on a signal charge created in the first photoelectric conversion element, and reads a second focus detection signal based on at least a signal charge created in the second photoelectric conversion element after the reading of the first focus detection signal; and correction means that corrects the first focus detection signal or the second focus detection signal in accordance with a proportion of a time difference between the reading of the first focus detection signal and the reading of the second focus detection signal. |
