PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plunger rod and a stopper attachment structure for reducing the chances of the plunger rod slipping past the stopper taper and lodging against a front wall of the stopper.SOLUTION: A stopper 270 attached to a plunger rod 14 includes: (a) an open rearward end 28 of a main body 26 receiving a front forward end attachment portion 31 of the plunger rod 14; (b) a core member 32 having a nose portion 34 which includes a stopper center post protruding from the interior of the core member 32 toward the open rearward end; (c) at least one rib 46 extending radially outward and around a perimeter of the main body; and (d) an inward shoulder portion 274 adapted for contact with a taper on the forward end attachment portion of the plunger rod. The inward shoulder portion further includes a first cylindrical wall portion 280 and a second cylindrical wall portion 282, and a sloped portion 275 extends between the first wall 280 and the second wall 282. |
