PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can perform two-sided printing, can be made compact, and can improve positioning accuracy in a main scanning direction of a sheet on which two-sided printing is performed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises first detection means 101, second detection means 102, and shift roller pairs 201 and 202. The correction amount such as ((L5-L0)+(L3-L0)) when performing correction with the shift roller pairs 201, 202 is calculated by using a detection result L5 detected by the second detection means 102 when the sheet to be corrected passes through a second transportation path 22 and a detection result L3 of the first detection means 101 after passage through the second transportation path 22 of a preceding sheet which passes through the second transportation path 22 precedingly and whose sheet position is corrected by the shift roller pairs 201, 202. |
