The present invention relates to a polymer-metal composite material radiation-shielding material using low melting point bismuth alloy powder having an excellent radiation-shielding function, and a method for producing the same. More specifically, the method comprises the steps of: (a) mixing low melting point bismuth-based alloy (for example, a tin-bismuth alloy) powder having a radiation-shielding function with a polymer resin in a twin-screw or an internal mixer; and (b) deforming and orienting the low melting point tin-bismuth alloy powder at high pressure by using a hot press machine or a roll milling machine, and simultaneously molding the low melting point tin-bismuth alloy powder into a particular size. The method further comprises a step (c) in which a solution having bismuth-based alloy (for example, a tin-bismuth alloy) powder dispersed therein is coated on a surface of a fiber support and the coated powder is laminated, so a multilayer structure is produced. Then, the multilayer structure is compressed and processed at a temperature around a melting temperature of metal in the roll milling machine or the press, so a fiber-reinforced radiation-shielding material is produced. Accordingly, a radiation-shielding function is maximized through a multilayer structure without using a toxic material such as lead. |
