The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for detecting a malfunctioning rail pressure sensor. The rail pressure sensor supplies an analog output signal characterizing the rail pressure and a digital output signal which are fed to a control device and are evaluated in the control device. The digital signal output by the rail pressure sensor is a differential rail pressure signal which is determined in the rail pressure sensor and on the basis of which the control device detects whether or not the rail pressure sensor malfunctions. |
