PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that has excellent durability of a polarizer even when the thickness is reduced.SOLUTION: There is provided an image display device that has a polarizing plate and a display element in this order from a visible side, where the polarizing plate has a polarizer and a hard coat layer arranged adjacent to the polarizer; the hard coat layer is a layer obtained by curing a curable composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a photopolymerization initiator; the photopolymerization initiator includes a photopolymerization initiator X having a base dissociation constant pKb of 8 or more; the content of the photopolymerization initiator X is 60 mass% or more relative to the total mass of the photopolymerizable initiator; the moisture permeability of a layer closer to the visible side than the polarizer is 60 g/m/24h or more. |
