PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing an incidence of paper feed delay jamming.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier; image forming means that forms an image on the image carrier; transfer means that transfers the image formed on the image carrier by the image forming means onto a recording medium at a predetermined position; paper feed means that feeds the recording material to the predetermined position after the image forming means starts to form the image on the image carrier; detecting means that is disposed between the paper feed means and the predetermined position and detects the presence or absence of the recording material; and control means that controls conveyance of the recording material. When images are continuously formed on a plurality of recording materials, a CPU (control means) broadens an interval Ti for image formation between a rear end of an image to be transferred onto a preceding recording material and a top end of an image to be transferred onto the subsequent recording material based on the detection results of a registration sensor (detecting means). |
