In one embodiment, a social networking system receives a request by a first user for user comments associated with a content object, accesses a data store of user comments to retrieve a set of user comments associated with the content object, orders the set of user comments based on a time value associated with each comment of the set of user comment, adjusts the order of user comments based on social graph information of the first user, and presents the adjusted list of user comments to the first user.

receiving, at a computer system, a request for user comments associated with a content object hosted by a third party system, wherein the request includes a first user identifier and a comment thread identifier; accessing a data store of user comments using the comment thread identifier to retrieve a set of user comments associated with the content object; ordering the set of user comments based on a time value associated with each comment of the set of user comments; adjusting the order of user comments in the set based on social graph information of a first user corresponding to the first user identifier; and presenting the adjusted list of user comments to the first user.
