PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction in an image quality.SOLUTION: A display device is provided that comprises: a control unit that creates from an input image signal an output image signal having luminance of a pixel converted by use of a conversion coefficient having a first threshold set, determines whether an image based on the input image signal is a specific image, and changes the first threshold to a second threshold different from the first threshold when the image is the specific image; and an image display panel unit that displays the image on the basis of the output image signal. In such the display device, even on a high gradation value side of the input image signal including an image of a primary color system, luminance of the image to be displayed is not kept constant in accordance with a change in gradation value, and is configured to vary therein, which in turn reduction in an image quality of the display image is prevented. |
