PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting refrigerant leakage of a cooling system transporting thermal energy using difference in the gas-liquid density of a refrigerant, the method enabling the refrigerant leakage to be determined before the cooling capability of the cooling system deteriorates.SOLUTION: A cooling system S1 includes: cooling devices 20a,b having evaporators 21a,b, refrigerant flow rate control valves 25a,b, and blowers 24a,b; a condenser 10 installed at a higher place than the evaporators 21a,b; a condenser gas pressure sensor 50; an evaporator outlet pressure sensor 51; means 27a,b,24a,b for measuring the amount of heat for cooling configured to measure the amount of heat for cooling of the cooling devices 20a,b; and a controlling device C. The controlling device C performs cooling operation by fully opening the refrigerant flow rate control valves 25a,b and determines that the refrigerant leaks when the pressure loss of a refrigerant gas pipe 30 which is a difference in pressure measured by the evaporator outlet pressure sensor 51 and the condenser gas pressure sensor 50 is lower than the pressure loss of the refrigerant gas pipe 30 having no refrigerant leakage. |
