This method for adjusting a superconducting magnet includes: a step (S100) of measuring a magnetic field in a static magnetic field space; a step (S110) of calculating a plurality of locations of placement of shims in the superconducting magnet and the amount of shims to be placed in each of the plurality of locations of placement on the basis of the measurement result of the step of measuring the magnetic field; and a step (S120) of shimming by placing or removing at least one shim of at least one type of shim from a plurality of types of shims in or from each of the plurality of locations of placement of the shims on the basis of the calculation result of the step of calculating the plurality of locations of placement of the shims and the amount of shims to be placed in each of the plurality of locations of placement. A constraint is imposed on the step of calculating the amount of shims to be placed in each of the plurality of locations of placement of the shims such that the amount of shims that is equivalent to any one shim from the plurality of types of the shims or that is equivalent to a combination of any plurality of shims from the plurality of types of the shims is calculated for each of the plurality of locations of placement of the shims.
