A vehicle control device which sets a target drive force in accordance with an operation state and performs drive force control for controlling an output of a drive source and a transmission ratio of a continuously variable transmission so as to achieve the target drive force is provided with a generator capable of being driven by the drive source, wherein during a normal transmission mode, the drive force control is corrected on the basis of a power generation state of the generator, and during a linear transmission mode in which priority is given to a rotation speed change of the drive source, the drive force control is not corrected. |
