The purpose of the present invention is to provide an autonomous moving device which solves the problem of being able to appropriately determine the necessity to avoid an object upon a path surface while reducing the burden upon a user for a moving body which moves autonomously indoors and outdoors. To this end, the autonomous moving device comprises: a database wherein is stored information of an object for which avoidance is necessary and information of an object for which avoidance is unnecessary when the moving body which moves autonomously travels; an object detection unit which detects, using a sensor which is provided to the moving body, an object upon a path surface in the vicinity of the moving body; a comparison unit which compares the detected object upon the path surface with the objects which are stored in the database; an assessment input unit which, if the result of the comparison by the comparison unit is that there is no data in the database which matches or is similar to the object upon the path surface, accepts an assessment input from an operator as to whether it is necessary to avoid the object upon the path surface; and an action generating unit which instructs a subsequent action of the moving body on the basis of the result of the comparison by the comparison unit or the result of the avoidance necessity assessment which is received by the assessment input unit. |
