Disclosed are a data transmission method and user equipment (UE), for solving the problem in the prior art that when a UE uses an APN of a 3G network or a wrong APN to activate a PDN connection used for transmitting data service, the PDN connection cannot be established. The method comprises: after being registered with an LTE network, a UE determines that establishing a first PDN connection with the LTE network for transmitting data service fails; the UE uses a second PDN connection established in the registration process to transmit data service between the UE and the LTE network, the APN corresponding to the second PDN connection supporting the type of the data service to be transmitted. Because the APN corresponding to the second PDN connection supports the type of the data service to be transmitted, the UE can transmit data service between the UE and the LTE network by using the second PDN connection, satisfying the requirement of the user for using data service in the LTE network, and improving user experience. |
