TERMINAL UPGRADE METHOD AND RELATED DEVICE

A terminal upgrade method and a related device. The method comprises: an EMS encapsulates a file of an upgrade version supported by the type of a terminal into a multicast program and stores the multicast program in a multicast server, or sends the file of the upgrade version supported by the type of the terminal to the multicast server so that the multicast server encapsulates the file of the upgrade version into the multicast program; the EMS establishes a version-to-address mapping, the version-to-address mapping comprising a mapping between an upgrade version number and a multicast program storage address; the EMS delivers the version-to-address mapping to the terminal; and deliver an upgrade startup instruction to the terminal, to trigger the terminal to send a multicast program on-demand request to the multicast server according to the multicast program storage address in the version-to-address mapping, and the terminal receives the multicast program that is sent by the multicast server and stored at the multicast program storage address of the terminal, and the terminal executes version upgrade operation according to the received multicast program. Therefore, the workload of an OLT can be effectively reduced and the upgrade efficiency of the terminal is improved.
