PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film that is thin and can exhibit high hydrothermal durability and a high front contrast, and a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device including the optical film.SOLUTION: The optical film contains a cellulose acylate having a substitution degree of acyl groups of 2.0 to 2.6 and at least one optical performance developer, and has a film thickness of 40 μm or less. The cellulose acylate has a mannose content of 0.2 mass% or less. The optical film satisfies expression I: M≥M×1.1 and expression II: C≥C×1.1. In the expressions, a region from one surface of the optical film to 2 μm depth is denoted by surface A and a region from the other surface of the optical film to 2 μm depth is denoted by surface B; Mrepresents a mannose content in surface A; Mrepresents a mannose content in surface B; Crepresents a content of the optical performance developer in surface A; Crepresents a content of the optical performance developer in surface B; and M, M, Cand Care described by a unit of mass%. |
