The invention relates to a chamber furnace for producing foam glass plates or molded bodies made of foam glass, said chamber furnace ensuring stable conditions for the production of foam glass plates or of molded bodies made of foam glass. A chamber furnace according to the invention for producing foam glass plates or molded bodies made of foam glass comprises a heat-transfer chamber in which individual heat-transfer units (2) lying one above the other horizontally are arranged, wherein one sub-chamber (1) is formed between every two adjacent heat-transfer units (2). Each of the sub-chambers (1) lying one above the other horizontally and formed in said way can be controlled in a separate heat-transfer zone. The individual sub-chambers (1) lying one above the other horizontally are designed either in the shape of compartments having partitions or not having partitions for accommodating pallets (6). The starting material (7) is foamed on said pallets (6). The arrangement of the heat-transfer units (2) ensures uniform heating and cooling of all pallets (6), wherein the heat-transfer units (2) have means (3, 4) that enable local heat supply and heat removal. Each sub-chamber (1) is controlled by heating or cooling in a separate heat-transfer zone. |
