PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardening apparatus capable of uniformly cooling a work-piece having non-uniform heat capacities.SOLUTION: A hardening apparatus 1 performs hardening of a work-piece W having a thin wall portion Wa having a predetermined heat capacity and a thick wall portion Wb having a heat capacity greater than that of the thin wall portion Wa. The hardening apparatus 1 comprises: a plurality of cooling nozzles 20 injecting coolant in mist toward an outer peripheral surface of the thin wall portion Wa and an outer peripheral surface of the thick wall portion Wb in the work-piece W heated; and a plurality of shot nozzles 30 projecting a projection material toward the outer peripheral surface of the thick wall portion Wb injected with the coolant. |
