The sulphuric acid salt of 6-ethoxy-2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2 -dihydroquinoline is prepared by reacting 6 - ethoxy - 2,2,4 - trimethyl - 1,2 - dihydroquinoline with sulphuric acid in the presence of acetone.ALSO:An animal feed composition comprises a dihydroquinoline salt of p the general formula <FORM:1074236/A1-A3/1> wherein n is 1 or 2, R is a straight or branched chain alkyl or alkoxy group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or benzyloxy and Y- is an anion. Examples describe the use of salts of 6-ethoxy-2, 2, 4-trimethyl-1, 2-di hydroquinoline to prevent loss of vitamins in alfalfa, mixtures of corn oil and alfalfa, and fish meal. |
