Provided are an inexpensive four-way switching valve and a refrigeration device that are equipped with a pressure equalization function. A pilot mechanism (70) generates a pressure difference between a first chamber (55) and a second chamber (56) in a four-way switching main body mechanism (50). The pilot mechanism (70) is configured so as to be capable of switching between a first state wherein the first chamber (55) is at a higher pressure than the second chamber (56) in order to achieve a normal state, a second state wherein the second chamber (56) is at a higher pressure than the first chamber (55) in order to achieve a reverse state, and a third state wherein a first port (12a) and a fourth port (12d) are connected to each other.
