In order to reduce the required heating capacity of a heat exchanger (a heating unit) during a preliminary operation, this cooling device (1) is equipped with a control unit (50) configured so as to be capable of executing a cooling operation and a preliminary operation. In the cooling operation an upstream supply valve (45) and a downstream supply valve (42) on a water supply pipe (12) are opened and a bypass valve (46) on a bypass pipe (15) is closed, a heating heat exchanger (30) (a heating unit) of the water supply pipe (12) is stopped, and a drain recovery mechanism (25) circulates water to a reaction tank (21), thereby cooling a cooling subject with the reaction tank (21) by means of water. In the preliminary operation the downstream supply valve (42) is closed, the bypass valve (46) is opened, the degree of opening of the upstream supply valve (45) is reduced in comparison to the degree of opening in the cooling operation, the heating heat exchanger (30) is driven, and the drain recovery mechanism (25) circulates water to the heating heat exchanger (30), thereby heating the water with the heating heat exchanger (30). |
