A storage space saving method and apparatus, which relate to the field of communications. The method comprises: determining an application to be backed up from applications installed locally (S11); sending an installation package and data of the determined application to a server for backup (S12); and locally uninstalling the application, and reserving an icon of the application (S13). Therefore, storage space is effectively saved, an application is prevented from occupying the storage space for a long term, and waste of the storage space is reduced. |
