PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonhalogen flame-retardant rubber composition which has higher heat resistance and radiation resistance and does not generate poisonous or corrosive gas such as halogen gas even when combusted, and to provide a non-halogen flame-retardant electric wire or cable obtained using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a nonhalogen flame-retardant rubber composition which comprises an ethylene-propylene diene rubber having a diene content of 10 mass% or less and is obtained by incorporating a polymer in which the diene content is 0.5 to 3.0 mass% based on the whole polymer, silane-treated magnesium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide treated with a fatty acid or a phosphoric acid ester.
