PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of reading an image reflecting the reading conditions, set by a user in the image reader, by event type push scan, and to provide a control method and program therefor.SOLUTION: A scanner for reading an image optically is controlled as follows. Conditions for performing image reading are set and stored. Subsequently, image reading is instructed, and in response to that instruction, an information processing apparatus, as a transfer destination of the image data obtained by reading, is notified of the event of image reading, prior to start of image reading. Thereafter, image reading based on the stored conditions is started according to an instruction from the information processing apparatus, responding to the notification of the event. |
