Provided is an elevator door device that can precisely and reliably detect a string-like obstacle caught in the doors that open and close the entrance. The elevator door device comprises: a pair of double doors that open and close the entrance of the elevator; a light emitting means that is for emitting light and that is provided on one of the pair of doors; a light receiving means that is for receiving the light from the light emitting means and that is provided on the other of the pair of doors; a door end member that is provided on an end part of the doorstop side of the one of the pair of doors; and a detecting means for detecting the presence of an obstacle between the pair of doors on the basis of the light receiving state of the light receiving means. Formed on the door end member are a guiding groove extending from the door landing side to the elevator car side and a through-hole that focuses the light from the light emitting means and that is provided in the bottom of the guiding groove. The light receiving means is provided to be able to receive the light that was emitted from the light emitting means and passes through the through-hole. The detecting means detects the presence of string-like obstacles if the light receiving means does not receive light from the light emitting means when the entrance is fully closed by the doors. |
