PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrogen donor which enables efficient production of a hydrogen donor by using hydrogen obtained from methane hydrate as a raw material, and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions.SOLUTION: The method for producing a hydrogen donor comprises: a methane recovery step of recovering methane from methane hydrate by using carbon dioxide; a modification step of obtaining a synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide by reacting methane recovered in the methane recovery step with a gas containing oxygen; a shift reaction step of obtaining a gas containing hydrogen and carbon dioxide by reacting carbon monoxide contained in the synthesis gas obtained in the modification step with water; a carbon dioxide separation step of separating carbon dioxide from the gas containing hydrogen and carbon dioxide obtained in the shift reaction step; a hydrogenation step of obtaining a hydrogen donor by reacting the gas from which carbon dioxide has been separated in the carbon dioxide separation step and which contains hydrogen, with a hydrogen storage body; and a carbon dioxide circulation step of circulating carbon dioxide separated in the carbon dioxide separation step into the methane recovery step to serve as carbon dioxide used in the methane recovery step. |
