PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently producing a polyetherpolyol, and a novel polyetherpolyol compound obtained by the production method.SOLUTION: A compound represented by the specified general formula (1) is subjected to hydrogenation reduction in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to produce a polyetherpolyol represented by the specified general formula (2). In the formulas (1) and (2), Rto Rmay be identical to or different from each other and represent C1-6 linear or branched alkyl groups.
