A method for sanitizing a beverage dispenser apparatus includes filling fluid in at least a hot beverage tank of a beverage dispensing apparatus, heating the fluid in the hot beverage tank to a predetermined temperature range, configuring the drain valve to a closed state, activating a primary sanitation cycle by causing the heated fluid from the hot beverage tank to flow through at least a first subset of components of the beverage dispenser apparatus and terminating the primary sanitation cycle when at least one predetermined condition is satisfied. A secondary sanitation cycle is activated by causing the heated fluid from the hot beverage tank to flow through at least a second subset of components of the beverage dispenser apparatus.

1. A beverage dispenser apparatus configured for enabling sanitation cycles, comprising:
a beverage supplying unit for containing beverage to be dispensed to a user of the beverage dispenser apparatus; a cold beverage tank for receiving beverage from the beverage supplying unit; a hot beverage tank for receiving beverage from the beverage supplying unit; a suction unit for pumping beverage from the beverage supplying unit towards the cold beverage tank and the hot beverage tank; a beverage outlet for dispensing beverage from the beverage dispenser apparatus, said beverage outlet is connected to the hot beverage tank and to the cold beverage tank; a control unit from which the suction unit receives a command to perform suction; a cold unit valve connected to the control unit for controlling fluid flow from the suction unit to the cold beverage tank; a hot unit valve connected to the control unit for controlling fluid flow from the suction unit to the hot beverage tank; a supply valve connected to the beverage supplying unit for controlling fluid flow from the beverage supplying unit towards the beverage outlet; and a drain valve to control fluid flow from a pressure relief tube to a drain during activation of a sanitation cycle, wherein the pressure relief tube is connected to the hot beverage tank and the drain.
