Provided are an alpha ray monitoring device and an alpha ray monitoring method with which it is possible to accurately evaluate a signal of alpha ray origin. This alpha ray monitoring device comprises a device housing 10, an incident window 2, a beam-condensing means 3, an optical path varying means 4 and a first light detector 5. The device housing 10 is equipped with an opening, and the incident window 2 is provided to this opening. The device housing 10 is also capable of shutting out beta rays. Light originating from alpha rays, which are generated from an object to be measured which is set outside the device housing 10 enters the inside of the device housing 10 from the incident window 2, while beta waves are blocked. The beams are condensed by the beam-condensing means 3, and after the optical path is varied by the optical path varying means 4, the light is detected by the first light detector 5. The first light detecting device 5 outputs a signal according to the intensity of the detected light. |
