Disclosed in the present invention are a gold-plated switch contact and preparation method for same; the switch contact is a composite body having a three-layered structure, the first layer being a hydrophobic rubber layer, the second layer being a metal sheet layer, and a third layer of gold plating being formed by dipping a composite body of the first layer and the second layer into an electroless plating solution containing a soluble gold compound, gold or gold alloy being selectively deposited onto the surface of the metal sheet layer of said composite body using a method of chemical deposition. The switch contact prepared by the present invention is suitable for heat-cured adhesion and moulding with rubber to form a rubber button comprising the switch contact. The switch contact prepared by the present invention has the advantages of good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, low surface contact resistance, good resistance to contact bounce and electrical arc ablation, and long service life.
