FIELD: information technology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of detecting an error when reading a data item, the method comprising the following steps: a) storing a first copy of the data item in a first region of electronic memory and storing a second copy of the data item in a second region of electronic memory, b) reading the values of the first and second copies of the data item in the first and second regions, respectively, c) comparing the read values of the first and second copies of the data item, e) if the read values of the first and second copies do not match, repeating steps b) and c), and f) if the read values at step e) match, detecting the error in reading said data item, otherwise nor error in reading said data item is detected.EFFECT: method enables to distinguish a reading error from an error caused by distortion of data, thereby avoiding wasting of computer resources when taking error correction measures.11 cl, 5 dwg |
