A pouch container (10) is provided with a front-surface sheet (11) and a rear-surface sheet (12). A fill portion (14) enclosed by the sheets is filled with content, and an opening (15) to the fill portion (14) is formed between the front-surface sheet (11) and the rear-surface sheet (12) at an upper part of the container. The pouch container (10) is provided with sack-like portions (20A, 20B) provided respectively to upper parts of the front-surface sheet (11) and the rear-surface sheet (12). The sack-like portions (20A, 20B) each have: an internal cavity (22A, 22B) separated from the fill portion (14); and an insertion slot (24A, 24B) which enables a digit to be inserted into the cavity from the container width direction.
