The present invention provides a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery having at least one coating layer, a preparing method thereof, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The battery of the present invention has charging and discharging characteristics, lifespan characteristics and thermal stability by forming the coating layer consisting of a material with high electrical conductivity, on a surface of the positive electrode active material, and thus enhancing electrical conductivity.
