PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal capable of stabilizing a friction property of an inner peripheral seal to a shaft in a hydraulic damper.SOLUTION: A hydraulic damper includes an outer cylinder 1, a shaft 2 able to freely enter and retreat from the outer cylinder 1, and a rod guide 3 which causes the shaft 2 to penetrate through the center of the shaft and resides in the outer cylinder 1. An oil seal includes a core metal 4 supported by the rod guide 3 and formed into a ring, an inner peripheral seal 5 provided on an inner peripheral part 4a of the core metal 4 and coming into sliding contact with the shaft 2, and an inner peripheral seal 6 provided on an outer peripheral part 4b of the core metal 4 and coming into close contact with the outer cylinder 1. The core metal 4 includes a contact part 4c formed on one end facing the rod guide 3 and not provided with an elastic material. The rod guide 3 includes a rest part 3d formed on one end facing the core metal 4 to be brought into contact with the contact part 4c. The contact part 4c is radially brought into contact with the rest part 3d. |
