A protective garment, suitable to protect the user's clothing, particularly relates to a child's bib or apron. The bib or apron (5, figure 1) comprises an upper region (10, figure 1) and a lower region 12. It may also comprise two sleeves (14, figure 1). The upper region comprises a neck receiving portion (16, figure 1) which, in use, is placed around the neck of the child A and secured with a fastener (18, figure 1). When worn, the lower region 12 of the garment covers the child's legs and may be fastened over the edge of a high chair B. The garment is secured with a gripping region 40 which is made up of a strip of sticky or gripping material such as a thermoplastic elastomer. The garment may be formed of a waterproof or wipe clean material such as a plastic coated fabric which could be coated nylon. |
