Control apparatus 24 for controlling temperature of a fermenting brew in a plurality of fermentation vessels (16), which control apparatus comprises: a plurality of coolant supply ducts (34), one for each fermentation vessel, for supplying coolant, such as water/glycol thereto; a regulating valve 36 in each coolant supply duct to regulate the flow of coolant therethrough; and a plurality of controllers 38 operatively connected (40) to respective regulating valves 36 whereby the regulating valves are adjustable; characterised in that the fermentation vessels are located at mutually dispersed locations and the controllers have a common mounting, is provided. Preferably the control apparatus comprises a housing 26 having a thermally insulating shell 28. The supply of coolant preferably includes a coolant supply manifold 30 connected to a plurality of transfer ducts 34, within the housing 26, in turn connected to outlets 20 for delivering coolant to the processing vessels. Each transfer duct 34 includes a regulating valve operative to regulate the flow of coolant. Controllers 38 collocated with the housing are operatively connected at 40 to respective regulating valves 36 whereby the regulating valves 36 are adjustable. The flow of coolant is visibly monitored by means of flow meters 42. |
