<PICT:0989418/C1/1> <PICT:0989418/C1/2> A method of connecting objects 5, 6 having different coefficients of thermal expansion by thermo-setting glue comprises gluing to the objects 5, 6 an intermediate unit consisting of two or more metal foils or thin sheets 2, 4 between which and connected thereto is a layer 3 of a metal which creeps by the action of the forces occurring in the connection upon cooling. A ceramic, e.g. ferroxcube, transducer core 5 for an ultrasonic cleaner may be glued to a stainless-steel container 6 for cleaning liquid using an intermediate unit comprising sheets 2, 4 of copper, copper alloy, brass or tombae connected to a central layer 3 of soldering metal, e.g. lead, tin, zinc, bismuth or alloys of these metals. The upper sheet 4 may be in the form of a tray, and the glued joints 7, 8 between the intermediate unit and the parts 5, 6 may be formed of different thermo-setting glues which may be hardened separately. Ethoxyline resin glues may be used, hardened at 150-250 DEG C., e.g. 170..180 DEG C., and cooled down to - 80 DEG C. The sheets 2, 4 may be 0.3 mm. thick and the soldering metal 0.1 mm. or less. Two cores 5 are secured to separating plates 9 by glue 10.
