Disclosed are a cognitive sensor and an operation method using the same. The cognitive sensor comprises: a sensor unit which generates an electrical signal in reaction to an external stimulus; a signal processing unit which generates sensing data about an external stimulus through processing the electrical signal generated from the sensor unit; a cognitive circuit unit specifying an area of interest from the sensing data processed from the signal processing unit; and an output unit which outputs the sensing data generated from the signal processing unit, wherein at least a portion of the sensing data outputted from the output unit is sensing data of the area of interest.
