Input of commands on a touch-sensitive surface of an electronic device

The method involves inputting commands (A', B') by touching a touch-sensitive input surface i.e. touchscreen, of an electronic device using a pointing unit i.e. finger tip. Functions (A'', B''), which are triggered by performing (4, 10) complex movement gestures (A, B) on the input surface, of the electronic device are newly performed (9, 13) when the input surface is contacted with the pointing unit within a preset maximum time period. The pointing unit is again removed from the input surface without performing a simple tipping-gesture (R) on the input surface. An independent claim is also included for an electronic device.
