<p>In a data transmission system such as a television service provider system, compensation value data corresponding to information lost during lossy compression of program content (which may or may not already be compressed prior to the lossy compression) may be sent to a customer along with the lossy-compressed content. At the customer end, the compensation value data may be used during decompression to provide higher quality content to the customer than would otherwise be experienced without access to the compensation values.</p> |
