<p>A hair brush, in which each bristle 4 extends from a relatively wide first portion (5, figure 8) towards the base to a relatively narrow second portion (6, figure 8) towards the free end. The bristles 4 are arranged in offset rows and centre lines of the rows are spaced apart such that part of the base of bristles in one row extends between bristles in an adjacent row and/or, when viewed perpendicular to the rows, the width of the base of the bristles in one row is such that it partially occludes the space between bristles in an adjacent row. In use, the bristles penetrate and divide the hair enabling tension to be applied when it flows between the bristles. The application also describes a brush in which some or all of the bristles have a transverse cross-section with an elongate shape over some or all of their length.</p> |
