PURPOSE:To obtain accurate character information by ignoring the first dial signal out of received dial signals if one dial signal is inserted or deleted during data transmission because of noise, occasional disconnection, or the like. CONSTITUTION:If an operator in the reception side watches an output device 5 to find a character string whose meaning is indistinct, he depresses a correction key provided in an input device 1 used for transmission. Then, a correction control circuit 11 ignores the first dial signal out of at least one-message components of dial signal stored in a buffer 7 and reads out the second and following dial signals and supplies them to a character generating circuit 6. The character generating circuit 6 receives supplied dial signals and converts them to corresponding character information, and characters, symbols, etc., corresponding to character information are outputted to an output device 5. |
