A malodour-blocking perfume composition comprising one or more ingredients selected from cyclic nucleotide-gated ion (CNGA2) channel blocking agents. The present invention has the capability of decreasing the flux of calcium ions in the CNGA2 channels, thereby decreasing the activation of the olfactory sensory neurones. The ingredients may be selected from three groups having either a high calcium flux reduction, a moderate calcium flux reduction or a low calcium flux reduction. The perfume composition may be used in consumer products such as household surface cleaning products, fabric treating products, air-freshening products, oral care products or a product for treating human body odour. |
