Touch switches 211, 212, 215 and 216 are connected by thin tracks 242 which pass through a channel 31 between central touch switches 213 and 214. The central touch switches 213 and 214 are actuated conventionally in turn as a finger passes from one switch to another across the channel, yet the capacitive coupling to the thin tracks in the channel is too low to cause actuation of any touch switches connected by the tracks. The ability to place connecting lines between touch pads allows capacitive touch devices, such as sliders or touch wheels, to be made more easily and cheaply, without the need to apply conductive ink or foil to both sides of a substrate. Complex patterns of conductive touch switches and tracks may be formed in a single-pass printing process. The touch switches may form part of a vinyl record sleeve insert which can control a smart phone via bluetooth (RTM). |
