According to the present invention, a protection switching apparatus in an optical transport network includes: an operation route interface module for checking connectivity to a second terminal node corresponding to a first terminal node through an operation route for a protection switching; and a protection route interface module for checking connectivity to the second terminal node corresponding to the first terminal node through a protection route for the protection switching. If connectivity is checked, the operation route interface module and the protection route interface module exchange bandwidth resize (BWR) cooperation information and, at the same time, output an ODUflex bandwidth control signal based on the exchanged BWR cooperation information.
